Dynamite& Charlaine Hariss

Dynamite announced that they are going to adopt some of Charlaine Harris's books. I didn't like the 1st True Blood book cos the female hero was sooo stupid and there was too much expicit sex. If they'll adopt the True Blood books I'll look at it to see if in the comics it's better hen in the books.

Star Wars: Dark empire 1

I haven't read any Star Wars comics for ages. Even stopped buying the new issues, but for some unknown reason several days ago I've got the urge to start reading the "Dark empire" series, and I'm enjoying it very much. It's like the next chapter after the movies. Although he is now a Jedi master, Luke is as stuborn as ever and still think that he knows better then anyone else. In this book Luke thinks that he can defeat Palpatine and the dark force by joining the dark force. Yep, Palpatine was supposed to be dead after Lord Vader aka Anakin Skywalker killed him in the "The return of the Jedi", but he is not cos he cloned his body and trasfers his conciousness from clone to clone. Luke is almost lost to the dark force but luckily he's rescued by his twin Leia and both of them return to the Alliance. At the end of the book, Luke kills the current Palpatine and destroy all the clones, or so he belive ...
The story is great and so is the art. For some reason I find myself liking the old Buffy and Star Wars comics better then the new ones. I'm looking forward to finding more of those old comics during my visit in the city that always waits for me (I hope:)).

Buffy: Season 8 #26-30 - Retreat

1st of all a complaint: why oh why do Fark Horse have to put a frightening teasrer of the Alien comics in almost every issue of this arc ??? Rading Buffy doesn't mean that the reader like to see a big picture of the creepy Alien GRRRRR

Now to the Retreat story: sorry to say that it's not one of the best. It was OK till those 3 huge multi colored hindu godesses apeared at the end of issue #29. Issue #30 is totally stupid esp. with the giant Buffy at the end.

On another note. Buffy us a hypocrite. It's OK for her to have sex with someone else, but she gets upste when she see Xander kissing another girl.

Star Trek comics news

Chris Ryall has announced the Tipton brothers are working on two new Star Trek projects for IDW, starting with a TOS series titled Burden of Knowledge, in June.

John Byrne has announced that he has just had THREE new Star Trek comic series green-lit by IDW! All three are set before TOS-proper. One will be the long awaited Assignment Earth second series, which will preceded by the other two; one of which will conclude at about the time Robert April takes command of the Enterprise.

WOW !!! What a great day to start this unusaly for February hot weekend. Esp. when there was not even 1 new issue for me in this week's shipment :)

BuffyL Pale refolection

The last installment in the Bad Blood story is as good as the 1st two. With each colletion I'm getting to know more about the Scooby gang members. The only thing I'm not sure about is whether Selke the vamp was killed or not. The is was hard to see who is who amongst the mutated vamps.

I've stopped the old comics marathon for now and moved to season 8's Retreat story arc.

Buffy: Crash test demon

The Buffy marathon continue and gets better and better. The vamp Selke is still around nad Buffy has to fight oubervamps. But Angel is back although in a minor role. And the was a blond vamp that looked lke Spike although the name wasn't mentioned. The collection ended with cliff hanger in the shape of another Buffy being created by dark magic. Voldemort would have been proud :)

Buffy: Bad blood

Continuing the old Buffy comics marathon And enjoying it very much. I've discovered that there is a major ongoing story about the vamp Selke mixed with short stories about Buffy in highschool. Like the idea cos it keeps some kind of continuity. The art is good and bright, just like I love it.

A collection of Dark Horse Buffy: #9-11

Buffy: Play with fire

A very cool collection of short stories from the Sunnydale era comics. I didn't like the Buffy TV show but the comics are great. I've already got some of those old comics and looking forward to finding the rest during my next visit to the Forbiden Planet :)

Buffy: Willow

Another disappointing oneshot. Don't get me wrong. The story and art are good, but it's like the 1st chapter of what should have been a mini series telling us how Willow became the strong witch she is now. Instead all we got is oneshot telling the beginning of that journy leaving us hanging without telling the rest of the story.

Angel: annial #1

Usually I like the Angel comics, although I can do with less dragons. But this one is stupid. Didn't like the story or the art. The characters should look like their TVselves and lot like other actors.
