Buck Rogers comics news
According to writer Scott Beaty. the current run of the Buck Rogers comics will end in issue #12, but it's not the end. After that there will be a Dynamite’s Wilma Deering miniseries also written by him. Later he hopes to return to the main Buck Rogers saga. My fingers are crossed cos I love this series.

Fringe comics news from Vertigo
DC's June solicitations includes a new Fringe mini series - FRINGE: TALES FROM THE FRINGE . When it comes to DC & Marvel comics I prefer TPBs over separate issue for 3 reasons: usually it's cheaper then the issues, no ads every other page, and the paper quality is better. So I'm going to wait for the TPB.

Star Trek & Angel comics news from Amazon
I'm supposed to write closing arguments but it's so boring that instead I started playing in Amazon and discovered a new Star Trek mini series: "Star Trek: Burden of Knowledge " by the Tipton brothers. It's described as the newest adventure of the classic Enterprise crew. When a routine Federation diplomatic visit turns suddenly and unexpectedly violent, Captain Kirk, Mr. Spock and Dr. McCoy find themselves kidnapped and halfway across the galaxy! A new Original Series-era miniseries from the creative team behind Spock: Reflections!
I've also found a new Angel mini series: "Angel: Crown Prince Syndrome" by Bill Willingham. - Now that Angel's back in charge, he struggles to keep his relationship with Connor from getting messy and discovers weird new things about Illyria as she tries to woo the prodigal son. Meanwhile, Spike gets into the prophecy business, Laura Kay Weathermill has some strange ideas, and a demon army of warrior women tries to "fix" L.A. You know, just another day for Angel and crew.

Battlestar Galactica: The final five
Usually I enjoy the comics I read, but not this one. I haven't watched yet all the New BSG episodes (still stuck at the end of season 1), but when this comics series was announced I surmised that it's about the last 5 main characters who discover that they are actually Cylons and not humans. Instead it's a very confusing story telling us that humanoid Cylons were invented 3000 years ago and that those earlier humanoid Cylons helped to create the current ones. The art is great, but I don't like the story at all. The BSG universe isn't as established as the Star Trek or even the Stargate ones. So it's early to revise the history.Star Trek - the new movie
I've just finished watching the DVD of the new Star Trek movie and WOW !!! What a great movie. I already knew the story cos I've already watched an earlier version, but the finished product is fantastic. Finally I understood the reboot created an alternate reality, and not is not telling the actual history of Enterprise crew as we know them, but the history of an alternate Enterprise crew. This opens the door to a whole new alternate Star Trek universe that can be told alongside the original one. WOW !!!
It's like the Star Wars "Infinities" comics series that tool the 3 original movies, changed a single event and then told the story as it developed after that changed event.

Star Trek Titan: Synthesys
As a rule I like the Titan books. The writers managed to create a new miniverse in the vast Star Trek universe with a mix of old (Riker, Troi & Tuvok) and new characters. But I found this book to be very unimpressive. I couldn't warm up to the battle between organics and AIs. Esp.when the AIs are portrayed as either stubborn elders or impulsive teenagers.
Stargate comics news
This cover image of another upcoming StarGate: Daniel Jackson comics, was publushed in an interview with Brandon Jerwa, who is writing the Stargate: Vala Mal Doran comics. I'm so excited about the new Stargate comics !!! Although I dislike Vala, I've already preordered it from my local shop and am looking forward to read it esp. after Jerwa's announcment in that interview that later on, in the series we’ll see the whole SG-1 gang, including my personal favorite, Jack O’Neill. Everyone’s getting pulled into Vala’s mess.I'm very happy that O'neill is Jerwa's favorite and am looking forward to a Jack O'neil mini :)

Torchwood: Rift war
Finding the Torchwood comics book at the forbidden planet was a huse surprise. I've enjoyed reading it. It contains 2 stories: rift war - which is most of the book, and a very short story. Rift war was great story wise but not art wise. The likeness were mostly bad and it was hard to dechiper who is who. But I'm lookign forward for the next installment :)

New Charmed comics from Zenescope
Zenescope Entertainment has officially announced they have obtained the comic book and graphic novel publishing rights to the television property CHARMED.
Zenescope's comic book series will feature a brand new storyline which picks up where the television series left off. The story follows the Halliwell sisters, a beautiful trio descended from a line of powerful but good witches, as they battle against evil beings in modern day San Francisco.
Issue #0 is scheduled for a June release with issue #1 to debut at Comic Con International in San Diego this July.
WOOHOO !!! I'm going to add Charmed to my reading list. At least some good comics news after the big disappointment from DarkHorse' June solicitaions that doesn't inclide even 1 new item for me. That's right, no Buffy or Terminator issue in June :(

Angel: auld lang syne
Star WarsL Dark empire 2
Stargate SG-1: Valhala
Another very enjoyable SG-1 book based on Norse mythology ;) It features the original and real SG-1 team with the addition of Jonas Quinn. For me the SG-1 team with Cam and the very annoying Vala isn't SG-1. They should have designated it SG-1A as it was done with the various starships Enterprise. It looks like the writers and publishers of the Stargate novels also prefer the original team, because going by the covers, the next 2 novels will also feature the real SG-1.Although the book is written from Carter's view point, there is enough Jack and O'neillism to satisfy lil' old me :)
Percy Jackson & the lightning thief
I love the world of Harry Potter. I'm into it so much that I own at least 2 copies of each book (British & American), 2 copiesof each movie that was released so afr (wide & full screen) and planning on getting the ultimate versions too, 2 wands (Harry's & Snape's) and a mini model of the Firebolt. Sowhen I heard about the Percy Jackson books that are supposed to be the next Harry Potter, it was only natural that I'll read them too. To tell the truth I couldn't put down this 1st book in the series although it's a balatant copy of Harry Potter. Here is an 11/12 years old boy who find out that he isn't a normal boy but a wizard/godling, goes to a wizards school/half blood camp and is the only one who can save the unsuspecting muggle/mortal world from the bad guys. The only real difference is that while JK Rowling created almost from scratch a wonderful magical world, Rick Riordan used the world of the Greek & Roman mythology the same as the Stargate creators use the Egyptian & Norse mythology.
Anyhow, I enjoyed the book very much and can't wait to get my hands on the rest of the books (I already own book 4).

Doctor who news from IDW
In 2010 be the release of the first ever 'Doctor Who" Annual. Four writers – including Lee, Jonathan L. Davis, and writer/artists Davison and Smith – will join forces on the ad-free, 48-page special. The annual is a Tardis-centric issue. . "It's not really a Doctor Who book. It's more of a Tardis book. So we've got some pretty cool ideas there.
In 2011, IDW Comics will begin featuring Matt Smith's likeness in its series.
IDW will keep releasing comics featuring Tennant for the foreseeable future.
